SPL Fanzone: Motherwell
THE news from Aberdeen suggesting that Jim O'Brien is to be a target for a pre-contract signature in January seems to be an example of the lowest form of gamesmanship.
Here we are in mid-November and from the north comes the statement from our old boss that "There's no doubt Jim O'Brien would be in that category in the sense he is out of contract and he is a player we know and admire."
Is it a coincidence that McGhee's team is headed to Fir Park next weekend? This suggestion is just the sort of low tactic a manager resorts to when he knows his team are unable to deliver the goods.
Until January, Aberdeen are not entitled to talk to the player. Motherwell's best course of action is to beat them soundly at the weekend.
