SPL Fanzone: Aberdeen

A QUIET week in the People's Republic of Aberdonia, unless you count the links between our current manager and our previous manager with the now-finally-vacant Scotland manager's position. Mark McGhee is ruling himself out, which will mean a sigh of relief for the Dons supporters who believed those bitter Motherwell fans who informed us that he would leave as soon as the first job turned up.

Four months would have been extraordinarily early to jump ship, but considering the leaks he's found in the Pittodrie trawler's hull, he may have been tempted to hoist himself up the flagpole and see who salutes before the good ship AFC sinks.

Meanwhile, former Dons chief of defence staff Jimmy Calderwood is being touted for a sip from the poisoned chalice.
