Spin Cycle can hit the right note before Ellis-Bextor does
MANY thanks to everyone at Hamilton Park for reminding me just how old I’m getting.
Apparently someone called Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who is by all accounts a ‘pop diva’, will be in concert after tonight’s Bravheart meeting. Not wishing to be even more in the dark than is the norm, yours truly did some research on Ms Ellis-Bextor and it seems I used to watch her mum on Blue Peter.
Not to worry, a few winners always helps roll back the years and Spin Cycle can get us off to a good start in the opener, Bryan Smart’s juvenile strongly fancied to show the benefit of the experience gained on his debut.
Mark Johnston lifted the Glasgow Stakes 12 months ago with Boscobel, and Captain Webb can seal a double for him, while Turbo Linn can shrug off top-weight to claim the big prize of the night.
Johnston’s newcomer Hunting Country may be good enough to score on his debut and I’d get to the track before the final race where a small investment on Steelcut could reap big rewards.
