Speedway: Fisher return a big bonus for Monarchs
SPEEDWAY ace Ryan Fisher will return to Armadale for his third season with Edinburgh Scotwaste Monarchs in 2010, writes DAVID KINVIG.
The Californian's contract is owned by Elite League side Coventry Bees and their promoter, Colin Pratt, gave the green light for Fisher to rejoin Monarchs last night.
Monarchs chief Alex Harkess said: "Ryan has become a big part of our team over the last two years and we are obviously delighted to have him back again.
"Coventry, as always, have been a great organisation to deal with and we are pleased they have allowed Ryan to return to us.
"Other Premier League teams were interested in signing Ryan, but he made it clear he didn't want to go anywhere else."
Fisher doubled-up with Swindon last season and did consider stepping up into the top flight on a permanent basis.
However, his decision to stick with Monarchs will delight the club's supporters who relish his no-holds-barred style of riding.
Fisher said: "I can't double up next season because my average is too high and I'm happy to ride for Monarchs for a third term, I had no thoughts about going anywhere else."
Fisher's worth to Monarchs is immense as he totalled 657 points in all matches for them last season.
