Speedway: Video show to reveal plans

EDINBURGH Scotwaste Monarchs speedway bosses are expected to reveal further team building plans for 2010 at the club's annual winter video show tonight at the Thomas Morton Hall in Ferry Road at 7.30pm.

Ryan Fisher, Kevin Wolbert, and Kalle Katajisto are the only three definite starters for next season and speculation is rife over who will fill the remaining four berths.

With Thomas Jonasson having joined Elite League Swindon Robins, former No.1 William Lawson, who was frozen out of last season's squad, has been tipped for a dramatic return to Armadale, having spent this year at Berwick and Glasgow.

Some rumours suggest, however, that the Auchterarder rider may not be available to pull on a Monarchs race jacket again.

Yet, in spite of the uncertainty, season ticket sales are booming and are up on last year's levels.

Promoter John Campbell said: "The response has been fantastic and our supporters are right to believe we will have a very competitive team on track again in 2010."
