Spartans host Livi's opener
LIVINGSTON will open their 2010-11 campaign with a friendly against Spartans at Ainlsie Park on Saturday week in which new signing Iain Russell, a striker, could make his debut.
Russell, 27, has joined from Morton after three seasons at Cappielow. He spent much of last season at Stirling Albion on loan where he scored seven times in ten appearances as The Binos secured the Second Division title.
The other new signing is goalkeeper Tony Bullock, who has replaced Roddy McKenzie.
Gary Bollan, the Livingston manager, will then take his charges up the east coast to Montrose on Tuesday, 13 July, before embarking on a mini tour of Northern Ireland with games against Bangor and Glentoran.
The Lions first game at home – now called The Broadwood Motor Company Stadium under a three-year sponsorship deal – will be against Oxford United on Tuesday, 20 July, and their first competitive fixture of the season will be the first round Alba Challenge Cup tie against Queen's Park at Hampden on Saturday, 24 July.
