Somoza is handed options
OR NOIR DE SOMOZA has two quite different options in the melting pot for his first run in Britain for new trainer David Pipe.
An exciting addition to Pipe's squad, the seven-year-old has won 13 of his 20 recorded starts in France with a vast amount coming in top-level events at Auteuil.
"He has two options over the next few days," said Herve Barjot, who represents owner Pegasus Farms Ltd.
"There is the Grade One at Ascot over two miles (Victor Chandler Chase) or he could wait for the Grade Two at Cheltenham, which is over three miles (the Letheby & Christopher Chase).
"We have not decided which one he will run in yet.
"The horse is well but he has not run for a long time – not since the French Gold Cup in May."
