Solution on offer to Lions
RUGBY'S Professional Game Board have issued the British and Irish Lions with a proposed solution to the fixture clash with the Guinness Premiership final.
The Lions are scheduled to open next summer's tour to South Africa against a Highveld XV on May 30, the same day the Twickenham showpiece is due to take place.
The issue topped the agenda when the PGB met for the first time yesterday and chairman Martyn Thomas revealed they are now waiting for a response from the Lions after putting forward a new proposal. He said: "The PGB has put together a proposal for the Lions and we hope to receive their views on it in due course."
