Snooker: Teen stars baize a trail to Glasgow

FOUR of the best young snooker players from the east of Scotland will be bidding for a clean sweep of five Scottish Championship titles on Sunday at the national championships in the Masters Club in Glasgow.

Greg Ritchie is set to make his appearance in the national final in the under-14s and the youngster from Musselburgh is already ranked No.1 in his age group.

Another Musselburgh player, set to play in the under-16 final, is Ross Muir (centre) the recent winner of the Junior Pot Black tournament at the World Championships at the Crucible in Sheffield.

Ross Vallance (right) is from Edinburgh and this talented young snooker player has high hopes of winning the open age group crown.

Vallance is from the Corstorphine Snooker Club in west Edinburgh. The remaining two titles up for grabs at the Masters Club are in the under-19 and under-21 age groups and Michael Leslie (left) is in the running to lift both titles. The very talented young player from Bonnyrigg is in with a real chance of returning home from Glasgow with a brace of trophies.
