Snooker: Leslie loses to fellow Scott
BONNYRIGG'S Michael Leslie lost out 4-1 to compatriot Scott Donaldson of Perth in the quarter-finals of the European Under-17 Snooker Championship in Malta.
Donaldson won the first two frames and, when it looked like Leslie would pull one back, cleared up from the last red to win the third on the black.
Leslie did pull a frame back with a 57 break before Donaldson won a tense fifth frame on the pink to claim his place in the semi-finals.
Only last week, Leslie had defeated Donaldson 4-0 in the final of the East of Scotland Junior Championship.
In the semi-final, Donaldson went out 4-1 to England's Sam Harvey. Donaldson did not make a good start, going 2-0 down before a 70 break pulled it back to 2-1, however Harvey won the next two frames to book his place in the final.
