Snooker lads are all geared up for Malta
BONNYRIGG'S Michael Leslie will be in top gear when he leads the strongest-ever Scottish challenge for this years European Under-19 and Team Snooker Championships in Malta next week, writes MICHAEL GALLACHER.
Slanj Kilts have backed the Scots lads by providing them with immaculate black and Black Watch tartan waistcoats to make sure they are the best-dressed team at the event.
Leslie, 17, currently ranked No.1 in the under-19 and 21 age groups in Scotland will be joined in Malta by Anthony McGill from Glasgow, a former finalist in the European Under-19 Championship, and Alloa's Eden Sharav, the current East of Scotland Open champion.
There are also Scottish teams in the Mens and Masters events.
Ross Lyall, the manager of the Slanj Kilts store in Glasgow, was at the World of Snooker in Chesser to hand over the waistcoats. He said: "I wish the players all the best in their bid to bring back trophies. I am sure they will all be great ambassadors for Scottish Snooker."
