A TRUE clash of the generations over the next two days will produce an Embassy World Championship semi-finalist few people would have predicted.
Six-time champion Steve Davis is a quarter of a century older than opponent Shaun Murphy, second-round winner over Wishaw’s John Higgins.
All four quarter-finals were due to get under way today with defending champion Ronnie O’Sullivan facing Peter Ebdon, while Scotland’s Stephen Hendry takes on Matthew Stevens.
