Snooker's health is simply Pukka
THE year 2005 was a landmark one for professional snooker. Yes, Chinese Ding Junhui made a splash by becoming the first player from outside of the British Isles to win the UK Championship, but a bigger break with tradition was the ruling banning tobacco companies from sponsoring snooker tournaments.
In keeping with that spirit of good health, World Snooker yesterday announced a one-year deal for Pukka Pies to be the new title sponsor of the UK Championship, which will take place in Telford next month.
Now isn't that better.
