Snooker: McGill edges into final
HIGHLY-RATED Glasgow youngster Anthony McGill booked his place in Friday's final of the Scottish Amateur Snooker Championship when he beat experienced Craig McGillivray 4-3 in an exciting semi-final in the Matchplay Room at the World of Snooker in Chesser.
Last night's exciting and tense semi-final was only settled in the very last frame when McGillivray left the pink over a pocket leaving his younger opponent with a simple pot to win.
The young Glasgow star's opponent in Friday night's final will be the winner of tonight's second semi-final between 16-year-old Michael Leslie (Bonnyrigg) and Michael Collumb, from Motherwell.
