Slateford at full strength for final day

EDINBURGH champions Slateford will be back at full strength as they bid to capture The Co-operative Funeralcare sponsored Inter County Top Ten for a third time in tomorrow’s final day of play at Lanarkshire venue Eddlewood, Hamilton.

Ace players Dougie Martin and John Ramsay missed out on the previous round, but are back in place at lead in the Pairs and third in the Fours respectively for the morning semi-final against Wigtownshire champions Stranraer.

Robert Marshall is the spearhead figure in the Singles and the 49-year-old is set to renew rivalry with Alex Higgins, who is desperate to avenge a recent times defeat in the national championship at Ayr.

Borders champions Melrose face Bogleha’ of Argyll & Bute in the other semi-final.

Elsewhere, Edinburgh & Leith line up against West Fife at Inverkeithing in this afternoon’s Hamilton Trophy match, West Lothian clash with Stirling County East at Linlithgow, Midlothian face Borders at Earlston and joint leaders East Lothian face Fife at West Barns.
