Selectors overlook Bainfield's poor form
BAINFIELD'S poor results in the Premier League have been overlooked by the Scottish bowls selectors, who have named five of their players in the 40-strong squad for the international trial match at West Lothian IBC on Sunday, December 14.
The selection panel gave a vote of confidence to junior caps Chris Steven and Paul O'Donnell, who join senior colleagues Steven Mcleod, Gavin Smith and Robert Marshall. East Lothian's strong bid to become national champions for the fourth season in a row is recognised with Willie Wood, Scott Kennedy, Graham Robertson, Billy Mellors, Derek Oliver, Jamie Higgins and Mal Higgenbotham included.
Graeme Archer is joined by his West Lothian clubmates George Sneddon, Neil Speirs, Thomas Mann and Mark Allison while Colin Walker, Steven Currie and Ronnie Duncan represent Midlothian.
