Second division: Dramatic late winner keeps Binos on track
Dumbarton 2 Stirling Albion 3
A LAST-GASP winner from substitute Scott Robertson gave Stirling Albion a 3-2 win over Dumbarton in a wind-affected match at the Strathclyde Homes Stadium. The win came despite Ross McCord seeing his 21st-minute penalty saved by Jan Vojacek.
Scott Chaplain fired the home side ahead ten minutes later, but the lead lasted only a minute before David McKenna headed an equaliser. The Sons restored their advantage just before the interval, with Alan Cook blasting a 25-yard free-kick but again were pegged back, this time by substitute Stuart Devine.
Just when the match looked to be heading for a draw, Robertson popped up. With four minutes remaining Dumbarton's Martin McNiff was shown the red card for a tackle on Andrew Gibson.
Alloa 0 East Fife 0
ALLOA and East Fife shared the spoils in a poor 0-0 draw at Recreation Park. Mark Gilhaney had the first chance for the home side, but his 13th-minute shot was saved well by Stewart Baillie. Andy Scott was next to threaten for Alloa, but shot just past the post. Alloa had the ball in the net just after the hour mark, but Scott Walker's header was ruled out and the game finished 0-0.
Stenhousemuir 0 Cowdenbeath 2
COWDENBEATH did well to take full points at Ochilview.
John Robertson put the Blue Brazil ahead in the 39th minute, and the game was all but over five minutes into the second half when Scott McBride converted from the penalty spot.
Yesterday's matches between Arbroath and Clyde and Peterhead and Brechin City were postponed due to high winds. No new dates for the matches have yet been announced.
