Second Division: Ayr do enough as East Fife find safety

Ayr United 1, Alloa Athletic 0

Ayr took the points after labouring to a 1-0 win over Alloa at Somerset Park.

Alan Trouten came close to giving the home side the lead before yeam-mate Ryan McCann struck the only goal just before the break. Alloa had a couple of shouts for penalties in the second half but Ayr held on.

East Fife 3, Forfar Athletic 0

East Fife look to have eliminated any threat of relegation after beating Forfar 3-0 at New Bayview. Forfar played most of the match with ten men after Jamie Bishop saw red in 13 minutes and it was no surprise when Stevie Hislop gave the home side a 33rd-minute lead.

Jonathan Smart made the game safe in 74 minutes and Bobby Linn added a late third.
