Second Division: Alloa 2-1 Stenhousemuir | Brechin City 3-1 Clyde | East Fife 0-3 Stirling Albion | Cowdenbeath 0-0 Dumbarton

Alloa show why they're top with stunning late comeback

Alloa 2 Stenhousemuir 1

ALLOA produced a sensational late comeback to beat Stenhousemuir 2-1 at Recreation Park. Scott Dalziel gave Stenhousemuir the ideal start when he scored from close range on the half-hour mark. The visitors suffered a blow in the 63rd minute when Iain Thomson was sent off for a foul on Jamie Hay.

With a minute to spare, Alloa snatched an equaliser when David Gormley converted Jason Thomson's cross. They completed a remarkable turnaround as Bryan Prunty's half-volley flew past Chris McCluskey.

Brechin City 3 Clyde 1

BRECHIN City came from behind to earn a crucial win. The visitors took a shock lead in the 39th minute through Aleksandrs Gramovics but the free-scoring Rory McAllister equalised midway through the second half.

Clyde's Neil McGowan was sent off in the 77th minute and McAllister netted the resulting penalty before Charlie King added a late third for Brechin.

East Fife 0 Stirling Albion 3

STIRLING Albion won comprehensively at East Fife, thanks largely to their contingent of on-loan players. Jonathan Page, on loan from Motherwell, scored twice before winger Hamilton's Stuart Elliott sealed the points in the 73rd minute.

Peterhead 3 Arbroath 0

AN EARLY goal from Peter Bruce and a late double for Martin Bavidge gave Peterhead a comfortable win at Balmoor Stadium.

Cowdenbeath 0 Dumbarton 0

COWDENBEATH and Dumbarton played out a rather forgettable goalless draw at Central Park. Dennis Wyness produced a rare moment of inspiration in the first half when his long-range shot was saved by Cowdenbeath's David Hay. John Dempster should have won it for the hosts in the latter stages but he toe-poked wide from 12 yards.
