Second Division round-up: Stirling Albion 2 - 0 East Fife

DAVID McKenna's second-half brace kept Stirling on course for the play-offs after victory in their clash with East Fife at Forthbank.

Albion were on the attack from the start and McKenna might have fired them ahead after 42 seconds.

McKenna made the breakthrough shortly after half time when Scott Christie's long clearance was flicked on by Martin Grehan. The striker grabbed his and Stirling's second goal on the hour mark.

Brechin 0

Arbroath 1

BRECHIN suffered a blow to their promotion hopes following an unexpected home defeat to struggling Arbroath. A second-half red card for Ross Harvey compounded their misery.

The first hint that it wouldn't be their day came just before half time when Darren Hill saved Stephen Ettien's effort. Then a wind-assisted throw by Steven Rennie was headed on by Craig Forsyth and although keeper Craig Nelson made the save, Forsyth scored at the second attempt.

Stranraer 1

Ayr United 4

AYR leap-frogged Raith Rovers at the top of the table after stretching their unbeaten run to eight games at Stair Park.

Lowly Stranraer missed some early chances before shooting themselves in the foot when Kevin Nicoll headed into his own goal after 17 minutes.

Kenny Connolly doubled the lead, and although McConalogue pulled one back early in the second half, Willie Easton's free kick and a Ryan Borris header completed the rout.
