Arbroath 1 Alloa Athletic 2

ALLOA reversed a run of four defeats as they came from behind to move off the foot of the table.

Arbroath took the lead midway through the first half. Scott Gates did well on the left before crossing for David McGowan, who netted with a low finish.

Alloa levelled after 56 minutes thanks to former Aberdeen youngster Kyle MacAulay, who converted from Pat Scullion's cross. Fraser Forrest then won the game in spectacular fashion, volleying home.

Peterhead 0

East Fife 1

EAST Fife maintained their unbeaten away record with a slender victory over a plucky Peterhead outfit.

Chances were at a premium in a poor first half with Peterhead's Graham Sharp seeing a 20-yard effort saved by Willie McCulloch, before Paul McManus had an effort scrambled off the line.

In the second half, Bobby Linn and Konrad Kozminski went close before McManus fired home from Lloyd Young's low cross after 74 minutes.

Ayr United 2

A STUNNING finish at Stark's Park saw Graham Weir strike an injury-time winner for Raith Rovers.

David Gormley fired Ayr in front after 29 minutes with a fine close range finish before Gary Wales levelled for the Kirkcaldy men from the penalty spot.

Kevin Smith put Raith ahead after Weir's shot had been parried by Stephen Grindlay. Scott Walker's late leveller appeared to have earned a draw for Ayr before Weir netted an injury-time winner.

Stirling Albion 1

Brechin City 2

LEADERS Brechin maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a comfortable victory over a Stirling side that came into the game with an unbeaten home record.

Gary Twigg gave Brechin the lead five minutes before the interval, capitalising on a mistake from Nathan Taggart before firing home.

Kevin Byers doubled Brechin's lead after 52 minutes with a low drive. Martin Grehan struck back for Stirling, but the Binos failed to find the leveller.

Queen's Park 0

QUEEN'S Park extended their unbeaten run to four matches despite the late dismissal of Paul Ronald for a second bookable offence.

Ronald was only on the park for 15 minutes after coming on as a 65th minute replacement for John Neill, and two foolish bookings for dissent saw the veteran striker sent off by referee Steve O'Reilly during an otherwise dull draw.

There was little action of note apart from the red card with David Murray going closest for Queens.
