Second Division Round-Up
Alloa Athletic 0 Raith Rovers 0
LEAGUE leaders Raith Rovers turned in another insipid performance as they escaped from Recreation Park with a goalless draw.
Raith's best chance of the match came midway through the first half when Raymond Jellema produced fine parry from Ian Davidson before then blocking Mark Campbell's rebound.
Brown Ferguson was unfortunate not to bag all three points for the Wasps after the break but he was denied by David McGurn.
Brechin City 1
Peterhead 1
MARTIN Bavidge struck a late equaliser to earn a share of the points for Peterhead but Neale Cooper's men still remain without a victory away from Balmoor since mid-September.
Brechin's Gary Fusco had to clear a David Ross effort off the line before Gary Twigg fired the home side in front from Charlie King's pass.
But Bavidge headed a late leveller from Stuart Anderson's cross to ensure a share of the spoils.
East Fife 4
Queen's Park 2
THE Fifers staged a remarkable comeback as they recovered from a two-goal deficit to beat the Spiders at Bayview.
Ian Watt gave the Spiders a half-time lead with an excellent solo effort before Paul Cairney doubled their lead from the penalty spot. But former Scotland striker Stephen Craword netted a quickfire double to level for the Fifers.
Greig McDonald headed the Fifers in front from a corner before Chris Templeman added a fourth.
Stranraer 2
Stirling Albion 8
A REMARKABLE match at Stair Park saw Chris Hamilton and Martin Grehan both net hat-tricks as the Binos crushed crisis club Stranraer, who parted company with manager Derek Ferguson straight after the game.
Hamilton scored from close range after just six minutes. But Stranraer were very much in the game in the first half and Michael Mullen levelled for the Blues just before the break.
But it was one-way traffic after the interval as Stranraer imploded and Stirling threatened to hit double figures. The Binos retook the lead courtesy of an own goal from James McKinstry. Hamilton then netted a quick double to complete his hat-trick before Grehan netted his first goal from a cross.
Grehan made it six with a fine header from a Mark Docherty corner kick before Stephen McConalogue grabbed a goal back for the Blues. John O'Neil fired home the seventh goal with a well-struck effort from the edge of the area and Grehan completed the scoring with his hat-trick goal from a Ryan McCord corner kick.
