Second Division
COWDENBEATH climbed to the top of the table last weekend and will be looking to consolidate their position as they host Dumbarton at Central Park. After a slow start to the season, Danny Lennon's side have established themselves as one of the strongest sides in the league and have won five of their last six matches.
Having been pipped to the Third Division title by Dumbarton last season, Cowdenbeath have shown themselves to be the stronger of the two sides so far this season.
The Fifers go into today's match knowing that they have not lost at home to Dumbarton since the year 2000.
Dumbarton have made a solid if unspectacular start to life back in the Second Division and currently sit in mid-table. Due to the competitive nature of the league, however, they are as close to the bottom of the table as they are to Cowdenbeath at the top. Jim Chapman's side have also found form of late with four wins from their last five matches having won just once in their opening eight games of the season. With one of the best away records in the league, this afternoon's match is tough to call.
