DUMBARTON topple leaders Cowdenbeath thanks to Clark.

Dumbarton 2 Cowdenbeath 1

A LAST-MINUTE goal by Ross Clark gave Dumbarton a surprise 2-1 home victory over Cowdenbeath, the league leaders.

Mark Baxter had prodded the visitors ahead in 29 minutes, but after dominating the first half, they could not maintain their momentum.

Roddy Hunter finished off after Derek Carcary had hit a post, and Clark's goal won it at the death.

Stirling Albion 3 East Fife 3

HONOURS were even in this end-to-end encounter at Forthbank. Lloyd Young fired the visitors ahead in the seventh minute, but Jonathan Smart's own-goal made the game level.

David O'Brien made it 2-1 to Stirling, before two goals in two minutes by Paul McManus had East Fife back ahead. The scoring did not stop there though, as Ross Forsyth equalised with eight minutes to go.

Arbroath 1 Peterhead 4

PETERHEAD kept themselves in the race for a play-off spot after thrashing the Red Lichties at Gayfield.

David Ross gave the Blue Toon the lead after 11 minutes, but ex-Livingston man David Winters equalised two minutes later. After a Barry Wilson penalty, Martin Bavidge had Peterhead 3-1 ahead before half time, and a second-half strike by Nicky Clark rounded off the rout.

Clyde 0 Brechin City 3

BRECHIN were on form as they easily overcame ten-man Clyde at Broadwood.

Rory McAllister finished off a neat one-two with Charlie King in 38 minutes, by which time Callum Reidford had been sent off for handling outside his area.

McAllister turned provider for Mark Docherty to make it 2-0 just after the interval and a fine Gary Fusco strike wrapped things up.

Stenhousemuir 0 Alloa Athletic 2

STENHOUSEMUIR – drubbed 7-1 in the controversial Scottish Cup tie by Dunfermline – learned on Thursday that a lucrative tie against Celtic has been put on hold as they must now replay the game, and their miserable week continued as they went down 2-0 to Alloa at Ochilview.

Brown Ferguson and Brian Prunty both scored in the first half as the on-form visitors closed the gap on their rivals.
