17.52: Thanks for reading today. See you again next Saturday for more live coverage on Scotsman.com.

16.49: Most of the matches now finishing. Latest scores and results below...

16.46: Alexander Keddie sent off for Ross County - Second Bookable Offence

16.45: Aberdeen 1 (Charlie Mulgrew 88) St Mirren 0

16.44: Montrose 0 East Stirling 3 (Simon Lynch 84)

16.43: Mulgrew scores for Aberdeen. Surely that's the winner. Mair is sent off for St Mirren, apparently for foul and abusive language.

16.43: Raith 3 (Mark Ferry 85) Morton 0

16.42: Stirling 3 (Ross McCord 84) East Fife 0

16.41: Raith wrap up all three points with a curled effort from Mark Ferry. A great win for the John McGlynn's side, but things are not looking good for Morton.

16.40: Airdrie Utd 1 Inverness CT 1 (Jonathan Hayes 83)

16.39: Elgin 2 Berwick 3 (Ian Little 81)

16.38: There seems to be a bit of a goal drought as we enter the latter stages.

16.34: That man Aluko looking the most likely to make a breakthrough for Aberdeen.

16.31: Hibernian 3 (Anthony Stokes 73) St Johnstone 0

16.30: Stokes gets a second to put Hibs 3-0 up, with a well-placed free kick.

16.29: Stirling 2 (Martin Grehan 72) East Fife 0

16.28: Partick 2 (Simon Donnelly 70) Dunfermline 0

16.25: Dundee Utd 0 Motherwell 1 (Ross Forbes Pen 66)

16.23: Penalty for Motherwell... and Ross Forbes scores. 1 - 0 to Motherwell.

16.22: Paul Nugent sent off for East Fife 63 - Professional Foul

16.20: Rangers manager Walter Smith has admitted that he was in the wrong over the incident which got him banished to the stand in the earlier match at Kilmarnock:

"At the time, I felt the Kilmarnock players were surrounding the referee to get Mendes sent off but Jim assures me that's not the case. Jim (Jeffries) says the boys just wanted the game to be played on. In this instance, I'm in the wrong with my reaction to that situation."

16.17: Queen of South 2 (Derek Holmes 61) Dundee 0

16.11: Dumbarton 0 Cowdenbeath 3 (Scott McBride 53)

16.09: Ross County 2 Ayr 1 (Mark Roberts 53)

16.08: Follow all our football coverage at twitter.com/scotsman_foot

16.07: Raith 2 (Gregory Tade 50) Morton 0

16.05: Tade gets his second goal for Raith.

16.01: Anthony Stokes netted his first Hibernian goal as John Hughes' side survived some early scares to secure a two-goal half-time lead against St Johnstone. Stokes turned and fired home from 18 yards to give Hibs the lead against the run of play midway through the first half. Derek Riordan doubled their advantage in the 35th minute with a low strike from 22 yards.

16.01: Aberdeen should have taken a one-goal lead into the break against St Mirren but neither side managed to break the deadlock in the opening period. The Dons spurned the best opportunity of a lukewarm first half after 10 minutes when Lee Miller's close range header was spectacularly stopped by Paul Gallacher and Andrew Considine failed to net on the rebound with the goal gaping. Apart from a powerful Garry Brady drive that finished wide of the target, the Buddies rarely threatened at the other end.

16.00: Lucas Jutkiewidz's stunning 20-yard half-volley and Nicky Weaver's equally-impressive save was the highlight of an otherwise tepid first half between Dundee United and Motherwell today. Neither goalkeeper had a meaningful save to make until United star Weaver sprung to his left to keep out substitute Jutkiewidz's rising strike.

15.59: Hamilton goalkeeper Tomas Cerny's save from Kjartan Finnbogason's volley was the first-half highlight of Accies' clash with Falkirk at New Douglas Park. Accies striker Derek Lyle was taken to hospital after sustaining a serious knee injury within a minute of the kick-off, when his studs caught in the turf.

15.49: Arbroath 0 Peterhead 1 (David Ross 45)

15.48: Half-time whistles sounding across the nation.

15.45: Elgin 2 (Craig Gunn 43) Berwick 2

15.42: Elgin 1 (Craig Gunn 40) Berwick 2

15.41: Albion 1 (Michael O'Byrne 41) Forfar 1

15.40: Comment from Shape to Shoot: Mendes can have no complaints, and neither can Walter Smith. It's ironic after Smith spent the week lecturing his players on the need to keep a cool head after Bougherra's tantrum last weekend.

15.39: Stenhousemuir 1 (Kevin Motion 33) Alloa 0

15.38: Dundee Utd's David Goodwillie runs the length of the park in a counter attack but shoots wide.

15.37: Hibernian 2 (Derek Riordan 36) St Johnstone 0

15.35: Riordan makes it two for Hibs. A great right foot shot past Alan Main. Very similar to Stokes' goal.

15.35: Stranraer 0 Livingston 3 (Raffaele De Vita 33)

15.32: The unbeaten Dundee Utd have the chance to go joint top of the SPL today if they beat Motherwell, following Rangers' slip-up.

15.29: Raith 1 (Gregory Tade 27) Morton 0

15.29: In case anyone is wondering, Aberdeen managed to track down their AWOL striker Sone Aluko, and he's looking eager to impress.

15.27: Gregory Tade puts Raith Rovers 1 - 0 up at home against Morton. Their confident start to the season continues.

15.26: Stirling 1 (Andrew Graham 25) East Fife 0

15.26: Dumbarton 0 Cowdenbeath 2 (Gareth Wardlaw 23)

15.25: Hibernian 1 (Anthony Stokes 21) St Johnstone 0

15.22: Albion 0 Forfar 1 (Chris Templeman 20)

15.21: Hibs new boy Anthony Stokes has just scored. Left foot low shot from 18 yards.

15.21: Elgin 0 Berwick 2 (Paul Currie 18)

15.18: Dumbarton 0 Cowdenbeath 1 (Scott McBride 15)

15.17: Ross County 2 (Steven Craig 15) Ayr 0

15.16: Clyde 1 (Paul McLeod 15) Brechin 0

15.15: Ross County 1 (Richard Brittain 12) Ayr 0

15.12: Tony Bullock has been sent off for Dundee for serious foul play.

15.10: Queen of South 1 (Steven Tosh Pen 6) Dundee 0

15.10: Montrose 0 East Stirling 2 (Michael Bolochoweckyj 7)

15.10: Elgin 0 Berwick 1 (Alan Brazil 7)

15.06: Montrose 0 East Stirling 1 (Andrew Rodgers Pen 5)
