Scots stutter in Thailand
HADDINGTON'S Mark Lamb was forced to settle for an over-par start in the opening round of the Asian Tour's qualifying school stage one in Thailand.
The former Scottish Boys' strokeplay champion posted a three-over 75 at the Rayong Green Valley course to sit down in a share of 69th spot behind early leader Heath Reed of Australia, who hit a 66. Aberdeen exile Clarke Lutton saw his challenge suffer an early blow with a seven-over 79.
Singapore-based Mitchell Slorach leads the Scots at the Lam Lu Ka course, but his one-over 73 left him well behind English leader James Hepworth, who fired a nine-under 63. Kilmarnock's Ross Dixon had a 78, while Sandy Mitchell struggled to an 81.
