School sports netball: Peebles quartet in Scottish squads

Peebles High School holds the Scottish S3 Cup and has four girls in the new Scottish national squads – Jenny Hudson, Neve McLean and Lauren Tait in the under-17s and Jo Pettitt in the under-21s.

Having also finished runner-up in the S1 and S2 Cups back in April, coach Linda Nicholson is confident of another bright season.

Jo is one of 21 players in the Under-21 squad that will be culled before the European Championships in Wales in June and then the World Youth Championships in Glasgow next August.

“Jo is just 17, but I am very hopeful that she will make the final cut for the World Championships,” Nicholson said. “It would also be great if she and some other Peebles players made the Commonwealth Games.”
