Saints wait for news on Haining's foot injury
ST MIRREN are waiting to discover the severity of Will Haining's foot injury.
The centre-back suffered the injury towards the end of Saturday's 3-1 defeat by Celtic. Saints manager Gus MacPherson said: "We're not fully aware of the extent of the injury so he went for a scan last night. We will get the results from the scan within the next 24 hours or so."
While MacPherson has worries at the back, he was encouraged by the performances of strikers Dennis Wyness and Craig Dargo. The former Inverness pair started together for the first time since Wyness joined Dargo at Love Street in the summer.
"You could look at the game against Celtic last Saturday as a free game to give Craig and Dennis time on the park together and if I'm being totally honest they did better than I expected," MacPherson told www.saintmirren.net. "It is with the next six games or so in mind that the Wyness-Dargo partnership has got to bear its fruits.
"Another player who looked to have gained from their partnership is Andy Dorman. His performance on Saturday was reminiscent of what we watched him do last season so we've got to make sure that we keep his confidence up and he should move on from strength to strength."
Meanwhile, St Mirren have reduced ticket prices for their last league game at Love Street. The club announced top prices of 15, and 5 entry for under-12s who are accompanied by adults, for the Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash against Motherwell on January 3.
Tickets for their last SPL game before the move to a new stadium go on sale tomorrow.
