Rugby: We won't be fools again, says Edinburgh Accies coach Barnes
EDINBURGH Accies coach Ian Barnes has urged his team to stop living in a fools paradise – starting with tomorrow's trip to Dundee High in the Scottish rugby premiership.
After announcing an eight-change team following a 12-43 home defeat by Glasgow Hawks, Barnes is equally dismissive of himself in putting regained pride ahead of victory.
He said: "It is not so much about the result as ensuring we do not make fools of ourselves as we did last week."
And, referring to the alterations, he added: "Desperate times, desperate measures. Eight changes from the team that got humped."
Included are Stuart Moffat after a bout of 'flu, Ross Browne, David O'Hagen, David Duffus, Duncan McLeod, Ed Stuart, Andy Lamb and Robin Snape. For Dundee, there are three changes following a defeat by Boroughmuir with Harry Duthie, Darell Russel and Rob Gray.
Meanwhile, before locking horns with Barnes, the other longest-serving coach in the premiership, Dundee's Ian Rankin, will turn out in a benefit match between the two clubs' veterans in aid of rugby charity Hearts and Balls.
