Rugby: Fired-up Dragons target home victory over Edinburgh

Edinburgh Rugby will face a Newport Gwent Dragons side fighting for credibility when they head for the valleys on Friday night in the Rabo Direct Pro 12 league.

The Steelmen are coming off the back of three defeats since an opening day victory over Italian newcomers Zebre and coach Darren Edwards says: “It is a must-win game for us as everyone’s home games are. We really need to take that one now. These young players need to do what Munster do and make sure their home ground is a fortress.”

Dragons have won just one of their last eight matches in the competition whereas Edinburgh were successful on their last trip to Wales when they beat Cardiff earlier this month.

However, Edinburgh have failed to win at Dragons since May 2006.

What’s more Dragons completed a double over Edinburgh last season.

n Edinburgh remain 23rd in the last European rankings following last weekend’s
bonus-point loss at Leinster.
