Jim Thompson in Exiles as he joins London Scottish

London Scottish have signed Edinburgh’s Jim Thompson and he is the fifth Scot to join the Exiles for the forthcoming season,

The 27-year-old Scotland A and Scotland Sevens international already has a London Scottish connection as the nephew of 2012 London Scottish Hall of Fame Inductee Alan Lawson. His cousin, Gregor Lawson, is also a former London Scottish player.

Thompson will join up with the squad in early August. London Scottish have worked closely with the SRU to bring Thompson to the club and he will bring a wealth of experience into the backs, having recently been a part of Edinburgh’s impressive 2011/12 Heineken Cup campaign.

Thompson is excited about the new challenge. “It’s a great honour to be joining London Scottish. The club is on the up and going places, and I’m looking forward to being part of a successful season.”

London Scottish had already signed Phil Godman from Edinburgh, as well as Scots Dave McCall (Rotherham Titans), Colin Quigley and Paul Spivey (both Moseley).
