Glasgow to hold Exeter friendly game at Ayr

GLASGOW will take in a pre-season trip to Ayr to face English Premiership side Exeter Chiefs. The Warriors will visit Millbrae as Scotstoun Stadium undergoes final preparations for the RaboDirect PRO12 season.

Kick off will be at 7.30pm on Thursday, 23 August, with tickets priced at £5 for adults on the gate and free admission for under-16s, with all revenue going to the host club.

Billy McHarg, President of Ayr RFC said: “It’s an absolute honour to be hosting this game and we’re delighted to be working with Glasgow Warriors to put this fixture on.

“There are a number of boys in the Warriors squad who have links with Ayr. Pat MacArthur, Gordon Reid and Murray McConnell all came through the ranks and Jon Welsh, who played for us in the British & Irish Cup, has gone on to represent the national team so we’re proud of that connection.

“There will be a lot of interest in the town, it would be fantastic to see a big crowd and we’re looking forward to it.”
