Dundee target win to move clear of the danger area

Dundee HSFP will look to put more daylight between themselves and bottom side Boroughmuir when they face Heriot’s this afternoon in a re- arranged RBS Premiership match, which has been switched to Riverside (2pm).

Currently, the Taysiders are seven points clear of Boroughmuir, while they also know victory today would see them move out of the relegation play-off spot at the expense of Stirling County.

Due to the British & Irish Cup and bad weather, the hosts have not played a top-flight match since 5 January, when they defeated Currie.

For this one, they have Ross Lemon included on the wing with young talent Ramsay Young given a chance on the bench. Dundee HSFP head coach Ian Rankin said: “Our mindset is good, but this confidence and attitude will be tested to the full in this massive fixture for both clubs.”

Heriot’s still have a chance of a top-four finish and will be keen for a victory after seeing a lead against Ayr slip away at Goldenacre seven days ago.

For them OJ Brown starts at stand-off with Ruairidh Carmichael on the bench, while Colin Goudie’s return from injury on the wing is timely, given that Max Nimmo is unavailable.
