Charlie Sharples to make European return for Gloucester

England wing Charlie Sharples will make his comeback from injury when Gloucester kick off their Amlin Challenge Cup campaign against Mont de Marsan in France tonight.

Sharples has been sidelined since suffering shoulder trouble during Gloucester’s Aviva Premiership victory over London Irish more than four weeks ago. But he now returns to take his place in a team that will be captained by former England centre Mike Tindall.

Gloucester head coach Nigel Davies has given first European starts to wing Ian Clark and hooker Koree Britton as Gloucester target a winning start in a pool that also includes London Irish and Bordeaux-Begles.
