Aberdeen take on Howe of Fife for Caledonia crown

Aberdeen Grammar and Howe of Fife will compete for the RBS Caledonia Regional Cup crown and a place in the national quarter-finals this afternoon.

With the four British & Irish Cup clubs already through to the last eight, one of these two can be the first of the regional winners to join them after today’s match at Rubislaw.

As a top-flight club, Aberdeen Grammar will start as favourites, but Howe are top of RBS Championship B and will be keen to cause an upset.

A fortnight ago this final was postponed as Howe did not have enough fit and available front-row players.

Elsewhere in the regional cup today, Premiership leaders Ayr and Cartha Queens Park will play off at Millbrae for a place in the RBS West Regional Cup final.

In the final, the victors will meet the winner of last night’s other semi between Hamilton and Glasgow Hawks.

Currie know that a win over Watsonians in the RBS Edinburgh Regional Cup will see them into the final against Heriot’s. They will have to do without key front-rower John Cox, who broke his jaw against Gala on league duty last week.

In the Borders section, Hawick take on Hawick YM and Jed face Kelso.
