Logan eyes chance
KENNY LOGAN has called on Scotland to develop a winning mentality if they are to ever become one of the world’s leading rugby nations.
In the World Cup in Australia the Scots battled hard but, as expected, Ian McGeechan’s side bowed out at the quarter-final stages to the hosts.
London Wasps winger Logan, who retired from the international game after the Australia defeat, is adamant Scotland must improve the domestic game and change the mind-set of the players.
He said: "I think we can get better. We have to get to not only the quarter-finals of the next World Cup but really be challenging for a semi-final place.
"We all believed that we could beat Australia.
But maybe we’ve not got enough players winning every week. Nothing against the players, but when you get the habit of winning, it’s the best confidence you can get. We have to get the District sides in the top four or five in the Celtic League rather than down at the bottom.
But you have to remember that there’s only 17,000 rugby players in Scotland as opposed to 120,000 in England."
