Musselburgh’s promising Edinburgh Regional Cup bid will gather momentum at Stoneyhill tomorrow when they bid for a third straight win, against Currie.
It promises to be the sternest test yet for the championship side whose nerve has certainly stood firm over the past fortnight. In their opening sectional tie they edged out Murrayfield Wanderers 13-12 and followed up with another single-point win (17-16) at Haddington.
Currie coach Ally Donaldson lists a side with Under-20 prospect Jack Broadley at centre.
Broadley made his mark with three conversions and a penalty as Currie got their cup campaign up and running with a 39-7 victory featuring six tries against Boroughmuir last time out.
While James Johnstone is on sevens duty, Adam Hinds is out injured and both Dougie Fife and Gregor Hunter are representing Edinburgh. Watsonians are also in action tonight at home to Haddington and have Scott McKean back at centre bidding to add further lustre to a notable individual campaign.
Heriot’s have a 1pm kick-off at home to Lasswade when Graham Wilson, Brian Morrisey and Jamie Parker return after varying absences. Edinburgh Accies entertain Boroughmuir, also at 1pm tomorrow, with a side led by Dan Teague and featuring recent Under-20 caps Alex Allan and Callum Reid.
Boroughmuir give Stevie Wilson his first start of the season at centre.
