GLASGOW Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend says a pre-season friendly clash with London Scottish will be “a good test” for his squad a week before the start of the new season.

The game at Richmond Athletic Ground in London will be played on Saturday 30 August, with a 3pm kick-off.

Townsend said: “We’re really looking forward to playing London Scottish ahead of the new season.

“It will be a good test for the squad and it’s an important fixture as we prepare for our first league match the following weekend.”

It’s also been confirmed that the clubs will play each other in a return fixture in Scotland next summer.

London Scottish head coach James Buckland added: “It will be fantastic for us to test ourselves against a quality side like Glasgow Warriors.

“We have built up a really good relationship with the Warriors and I look forward to welcoming Gregor, his backroom staff, players and officials to the Athletic Ground in August.”

London Scottish finished fifth in the Greene King IPA Championship last season.

Tickets for the game at Richmond Athletic Ground will be available soon from.londonscottish.com.
