Scotland international lock Ben Toolis and prop Ally Dickinson have signed new contracts with Edinburgh Rugby, keeping them at Murrayfield until the summers of 2018 and 2019 respectively.
Toolis, who hails from Australia but qualifies for Scotland as his mother is from Carluke, has been out of the Edinburgh team of late due to a elbow injury, but will be on the bench for Sunday’s 1872 Cup clash with Glasgow.
He said: “I love the way the club’s going, the boys respect Alan Solomons as a coach – I think he’s brought in the right players and has the right coaching staff around him.
“Last season we ended up getting to a European Final and winning the 1872 Scottish Cup which was really exciting and very promising for the club. I think we’re getting more competitive every year and I really want to be part of it.”
Dickinson, meanwhile, has extended his contract by three years as he looks to continue his rich vein of form in the front row for club and country.
“It was an easy decision for me to stay with Edinburgh,” said the 32-year-old. “It was my first club, I feel at home here and I really believe in Alan, Stevie, Hodgey, Pete and the great coaching set-up we’ve got. Everything’s pretty positive.”
