Rugby: De Luca back in the Nick of time

NICK DE LUCA is thrilled to be making his first start for Scotland in a year and a half after learning that he will face England in Saturday's Calcutta Cup match at Murrayfield.

And the recalled centre insists the fact Scots coach Andy Robinson is English is not an issue among the Scotland players

"I was hopeful of another start before now but I'll take it," says De Luca. "I was at Edinburgh when Andy arrived at the club and we were delighted to get such a world-class coach.

"The word 'ruthless' was soon banded about to describe his coaching methods and that's the way he is. With Andy you can't hide. His attention to detail is so great.

"It is not an issue that Andy is English. Every coach wants to be a winner regardless of who he is in charge of and Andy is certainly a winner."
