Charities can bank on fund

CHARITIES across the Lothians have been invited to apply for funding from a new £1.2 million community scheme.

Banking giant Santander has launched the UK-wide Community Plus scheme, which provides grants of up to £5000 to small charities or local projects that help disadvantaged people.

Registered charities can apply for a grant to cover salaries, equipment or materials.

Funding applications can be made by visiting any Santander branch or by visiting the bank’s website.
