Rangers star Edu wants to go one better this time
MAURICE EDU has set his sights on the ultimate achievement with Rangers next season, the domestic treble.
The United States internationalist enjoyed a successful debut campaign in Glasgow, helping the Ibrox side clinch the SPL title and Scottish Cup.
Now, having had a taste of success, the 23-year-old wants to go one better and has targeted a domestic clean sweep.
Edu, who joined from Major League Soccer last summer, is also relishing the prospect of playing in the Champions League for the first time.
He said: "Winning the double was amazing so I hope we can do that again as well as hopefully winning the treble because that would be a crazy experience. I also want to play in the Champions League and do well there as that's been a dream of mine since I was young. It'll definitely be a challenge but we're confident we can compete and hopefully we'll do well."
Edu sat out the Scottish Cup final triumph after suffering a knee injury in the title-clincher at Dundee United.
He underwent surgery to cure the problem and said: "Surgery went well and all parties involved were happy with the result. Now is the annoying part as I'm on crutches for four to six weeks.
"I'm out for possibly three months but I'll get some time to go home and see my family.
I need to fight hard and earn a spot back in the starting line-up because this season was great."
