Raith Rovers star Iain Williamson hopeful ahead of Dundee Scottish Cup tie
MIDFIELDER Iain Williamson admitted today it would be like a far-fetched TV script if Raith Rovers booked their place in the Active Nation Scottish Cup semi-finals.
The First Division side take on Dundee tomorrow in the last eight – meaning the SFL are guaranteed at least one representative in the semis – and Williamson should know what to expect having been over the course before.
He earned a runners-up medal with Dunfermline back in 2007, having lost out 1-0 to Celtic at Hampden, but reckons that simply reaching the semis this time would top that experience.
He said: "I've got a medal from the Scottish Cup final from a few years ago but it is a runners-up one. I am hoping to go one better this time. Even if we got to the semi-finals it would mean more to me. I didn't play as much in the run to the final with Dunfermline as I have for Raith this season.
"The Scottish Cup is all about dreams. It would be like a script from something on the telly. What a chance we have got to do it."
