Queens keen to bounce back from cup defeat
QUEEN of the South manager Gordon Chisholm wants to quickly banish Saturday's 4-0 defeat to Airdrie United in the Scottish Cup and keeping his side top of the league with a win over in-form Dunfermline tonight would be the perfect tonic.
Chisholm said: "Saturday was a real low for me as it was the worst performance during my time at the club. I am hoping it was a one-off and we have the perfect opportunity to show that is the case by winning against Dunfermline."
Queens will again be without goalkeeper Ludovic Roy, defender Craig Barr and midfielder Steve Tosh, with full-back Craig Reid given a 50/50 chance of playing according to Chisholm, though Bob Harris is in line for a start.
Joe Cardle and Scott Muirhead are both back in Jim McIntyre's Dunfermline squad after injury, while Andy Kirk returns from international duty.
Meanwhile, Ross County will go above Dundee with a victory over the Dark Blues tonight, and top of the table if Dunfermline win, but Dingwall manager Derek Adams is only interested in points at this stage of the season. He said: "I want us to put points on the board and worry about other things at the end of the season." Steven Watt returns from the Scottish Cup ban that kept him out of Saturday's 5-1 win over Berwick Rangers.
Dundee will be missing injured goalkeeper Tony Bulloch, the defensive pair of Craig McKeown and David Cowan along with the midfield duo of Paul McHale and Maros Klimpl. Defender Eric Paton and striker Sean Higgins are doubts.
In the Third Division, Montrose will have to make changes for tonight's game with Berwick as player-manager Steven Tweed is doubtful with a thigh knock and Chris Hegarty is suspended.
Berwick will be without the unwell Steve Notman but David Greenhill now fully fit.
