Queen of the South 3-0 Airdrie United
TWO goals in the space of four minutes in the first half set Queens on the road to victory to move them into third place in the table and leave Airdrie rock bottom, still searching for their first win, and with manager Kenny Black fighting to save his job.
Queens took the lead in 27 minutes in fortunate circumstances when David Lilley, making his 100th start for the Doonhamers, got on the end of a Willie McLaren corner from the right to knee the ball into the net from ten yards.
The Dumfries side doubled their lead in 31 minutes when a Derek Holmes shot was parried by goalkeeper Stephen Robertson and Stewart Kean, completely unmarked, volleyed home the rebound.
Substitute Dennis Wyness headed home from close range seven minutes from time for the third.
