Queen of the South 1 - 1 Inverness CT

Harris 75 Hayes 18

QUEENS grabbed a share of the spoils through a trademark Bob Harris long-range free kick in a game that saw three sent off and Terry Butcher sent to the stand.

The Dumfries side nearly made a dream start on three minutes with livewire midfielder Rocco Quinn cracking a ferocious 22 yard shot inches past with the keeper struggling.

But on Inverness's first foray into the danger zone on 18 minutes Jonny Hayes picked up the ball from Adam Rooney and darted into the box, eluding Bob Harris, before letting rip with a great finish.

Queens upped the pressure after the break with Quinn winning a free kick just outside the box, but Willie McLaren's shot was comfortably saved by Ryan Esson.

On 63 minutes Quinn's nicely weighted pass sent David Weatherston clean through, however Esson came off his line to make a great block at the edge of his box.

Tempers began to flare when Butcher was sent to the stand for protesting at what looked like a foul that went unpunished by Marc McAusland on Rooney.

Then on 77 minutes, Richie Foran was sent off for a second booking when he brought down Barry Wilson, and from the resultant 25-yard free kick Harris sent his shot into the top corner for a glorious equaliser.

During the goal incident there was some heated argy-bargy in the goalmouth that led to straight red cards for Queens' David Lilley and Inverness midfielder Russell Duncan.
