Queen of the South 0 - 0 Ross County: Match abandoned due to floodlight failure
Ross County2 Flynn (25), Barrowman (42) Match abandoned due to floodlight failure
ROSS County's hopes of taking a step towards First-Division survival were dashed with the game's abandonment at Palmerston last night when a fire broke out in the main stand 20 minutes from time and the floodlights failed.
It is understood the generator caught fire but the flames were quickly brought under control, although smoke engulfed part of the stand as fans were evacuated.
Ross County manager Jimmy Calderwood said: "It is a massive disappointment and it has cost us a lot of money, but more importantly it looked as if we were going to get the three points."
The Dingwall outfit had been in the driving seat through a Jonathan Flynn header on 25 minutes and an Andy Barrowman strike with three minutes to half-time, before fate intervened.
