Preston duo to miss cup tie
PRESTON ATHLETIC manager Stevie Myatt will be without the suspended duo of striker Kevin Haynes and defender Lindsay Stewart for tonight's King Cup second-round tie against Hawick at the Pennypit, kick-off 7.30pm.
Haynes and Stewart were both red-carded against Civil Service Strollers on Saturday when Preston led 2-0 with less than ten minutes of the game remaining but lost 3-2 in stoppage time.
"It was a good game in which we were in charge for 80 minutes," said Myatt. "We played really well, were two up and hit the crossbar only to lose a goal in time added on. However, because of Coldstream losing to Edinburgh City, we cannot now be relegated so we can concentrate on our final five league fixtures and a minimum of two cup ties."
Hawick, who conceded ten goals to Leith Athletic at the weekend, are bottom of the Central Taxis First Division with only one win to their credit all season.
