Philbin tops Leith Vics bill
LOCHEND middleweight Tommy Philbin has been handed the top-of-the-bill bout for Leith Victoria's charity gala at Edinburgh's Carlton Hotel next month.
The in-form boxer, who faces Renfrew's Brian Peacock in Paisley on Saturday, has been handed the chance to fight Army opponent Damien Wilson after Scottish lightweight champion Josh Taylor had to pull out of the June 3 event.
The occasion, which will also see Vics boxers take on their Army counterparts, is being staged to raise funds for Scottish soldiers injured in Afghanistan, with tickets priced at 45.
