Peterhead 2 - 2 Stenhousemuir: Peterhead fight back

Peterhead 2 Wyness (42, 61 pen) Stenhousemuir 2 Anderson (35, 39)

Peterhead began life after Neale Cooper by battling back from 2-0 down to take a point from this relegation six-pointer against Stenhousemuir.

With senior player Bobby Mann in the dug-out, Peterhead started well, with Martin Bavidge seeing a shot pushed over by keeper Ally Brown, before Graeme Sharp hit wide from a Dennis Wyness pass. The visitors took the lead after 35 minutes when Trialist Brian Gilmour played a quick free-kick up the line and Grant Anderson steered the ball past John Bateman. Three minutes later, the same player scored again with a poked finish from a similar through-ball, though central defender Callum Macdonald and goalkeeper Bateman hardly covered themselves in glory.

But Peterhead grabbed a lifeline when Stuart Smith flicked a Macdonald cross onto Wyness, who headed home his second in as many games. They levelled on the hour mark, after a foul by goalscorer Anderson was spotted by the far-side linesman. Wyness thumped the resultant spot-kick beyond Brown. The visitors were reduced to ten men when Gary Thom was sent off for a second booking .
